Glen Scotia’s Campbeltown 2024 release

Each year, Scotland’s smallest whisky region hosts one big celebration.

Glen Scotia 9 Year Old - Campbeltown Malts Festival 2024

Campbeltown might be Scotland’s smallest whisky-producing region, but in Victorian times it was dubbed the 'whisky capital of the world'! Each year, Glen Scotia and its neighbouring distilleries come together to celebrate their small but mighty home and the fruits of their skilful labour. You can't have a festival of malt without some special single malt involved, and Glen Scotia produces an annual limited-edition especially for the occasion. Let's check it out!

Campbeltown Festival

Once a year, the distilleries in Scotland’s smallest whisky-making region host one big celebration.

What’s happening at Glen Scotia?

If you just watched the video of Charlie MacLean above, you'll have heard him describe the Campbeltown Malts Festival with great fondness. He explains, "it really is the most terrific festival, it's one of the best in the world. So friendly, and Campbeltown itself is such a marvellous place". This sums up the ethos of the occasion and the region's distilleries, throwing open their doors to welcome in whisky fans and industry legends, for talks, tastings, tours, and a great big celebration of the malts made in this tiny Scottish region. Glen Scotia's 2024 events run over Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 May and include events such as tastings in the traditional dunnage warehouses, blending workshops, walking tours, and masterclasses hosted by the likes of master distiller Iain McAlister, master blender Michael Henry, noted drink writers Becky Paskin, Millie Milliken, and Dave Broom. Thankfully, you can still get a slice of the action with a bottle of the Glen Scotia festival release, which comes with its very own soundtrack! Read on to find out more...
