The Open and Loch Lomond

A partnership between two icons of Scotland.

A very Scottish collaboration

Scotland’s two greatest exports, golf and whisky, have come together as Loch Lomond has once more partnered with The Open. At 152 years old, it’s the oldest golf tournament in the world.

To celebrate, Loch Lomond has released two special single malt whiskies. But that’s not all... There are 75 ‘Golden Dram’ packs up for grabs, which will be allocated at random to anyone who buys a Loch Lomond whisky through Master of Malt.

Two special releases

Loch Lomond continues its partnership with the Open golf championship at Royal Troon with the release of two unique single malts. The first was created with the help of golf legend Colin Montgomerie, and it’s finished in a chardonnay cask. The second is an incredibly rare 24 year old release finished in manzanilla sherry butts.

The spirit of The Open

Loch Lomond is the official spirit of The Open - the world’s oldest golf championship, which has been played in Scotland since 1860.

This year’s celebratory whiskies include a single malt finished in chardonnay wine casks and a very rare 24 year old release finished in manzanilla sherry casks.

Explore the Loch Lomond range

There’s no Scotch whisky distillery quite like Loch Lomond. Uniquely, it makes both malt and grain whisky. It’s production set-up is unusual too utilising traditional pot stills, columns still and a special type of hybrid still called a Lomond still. This equipment allows Loch Lomond to make a broad array of whisky styles.
