The first Boutique-y Rum trip to Guatemala, known for its multi-cask type solera blends that are presented in the sweeter style. This bottling from Destiladora de Alcoholes y Rones Sociedad Anónima (DARSA) was distilled in 2008 and matured in an ex-bourbon cask in Guatemala for four years before being transferred to the UK for a further nine years. It's a rum that allows fans a snapshot of an untouched component before it becomes muddled in the magic of the solera.
Batch 1 is a release of 296 bottles.
A nutty combo of fresh coconut and brazil nuts. Sweet cane sugar and vanilla, honey and milk chocolate.
Sweet vanilla onto the palate, with a lovely oily mouthfeel. Overripe mango, sultanas, toffee, dark fudge chocolate.
Dried hazelnuts, black olive, tannic black tea, and bitter chocolate.
