Awesome single malt from Ardnamurchan! This cask strength release has undergone the classic Ardnamurchan treatment of maturation in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, half of which are peated, whilst the other half are unpeated. Bottled up at 58.7% ABV, without any added colour or chill-filtration, this is another cracker from the Argyll based distillery.
Zesty lemon peels and salty breeze lead with plenty of maritime peat.
Caramelised nuts follow crisp apple, whilst peaty notes of seaweed and drying smoke mingle with creamy barley and oaken vanilla.
Citrus zest lingers with notes of orange oil and candied fruit. Coastal peat and bold barley are balanced by buttery oak and more earthen vanilla.
