Benromach 10 Year Old Gift Pack with 2x Glasses
Give the gift of Benromach with this rather excellent set, featuring a 70cl bottle of their ace 10 Year Old expression (matured mostly in bourbon casks with some Sherry casks, and finished in Sherry casks), as well as two tasting glasses. Two tasting glasses means whomever you give this gift pack to is basically obliged to pour you a glass. It's like an unwritten rule.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Dry, barley, big on malt and oak. Dry pine, fruity. A tad spirity. Sweet spices after a time and a hint of puckering prune from the sherry cask and maple fudge.
Palate
Barley, slightly herbal, a little fruit, grassy. Big on malt, ground ginger.
Finish
Mouthwateringly bittersweet. Ginger, dry sherry, almost hoppy after a while.
Overall
A great whisky, its maturity belies its 10 years of age and the sherry finish has done wonders.
