This Highland single malt from Blair Athol is brought to us by That Boutique-y Whisky Company as part of its Label Editions collection and comes in a satisfying 700ml bottle. The Boutique-y gang treated this 15-year-old single malt to a finish in a first-fill bourbon barrel bringing soft layers of vanilla and oak char to the rich malt loaf and vibrant citrus at its core.
A release of 344 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends, all adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels. The brand won Spirits Bottler of the Year at the 2023 Spirits Business Awards, and Blender of the Year went to Sam Simmons, captain of the Boutique-y clan who oversees every one of these releases.
Crisp layers of honeyed orchard fruits and sweet, biscuity malt lead to a touch of cider, oaken spice, and delicate char.
Sweet malt loaf, marmalade, vanilla pods, and summer grasses cushion delicate spices nestling in the depths.
A hint of fresh ginger brings some warmth to the finish, with vanilla honey and vibrant barley in tow.
