Octomore 15.2 was peated to 108.2 PPM.
This is the exact same as 15.1 from the same series and the idea was to create a point of comparison. Both single malt Scotch whiskies were distilled from the same batch of Scottish-grown barley and malted to 108.2 PPM, but the maturation process for 15.2 is very different. It was aged in a combo of second-fill wine and second-fill bourbon casks before the spirit was finished in first-fill Cognac casks. It was bottled at 57.9% ABV.
Sweet citrus, lime zest, lemon meringue pie and gently toasted oak.
Viscous and smooth with vanilla custard, caramel, toffee and a crack of black pepper.
An unmistakable maritime quality while waves of earthy peat smoke linger.
