This single malt is from Caol Ila Distillery, independently bottled by Wemyss Malts. It was originally distilled on Islay back in 2007 and then matured in a single hogshead cask before it was bottled at a cask strength 57.2%, giving it plenty of peaty punch.
Lapsang Souchong tea, smoked ham, and rubbed peppermint leaves.
Through wood smoke comes liquorice, dried herbs, and some zesty citrus.
Spiced blackcurrant lingers.
