This 2015 vintage GlenAllachie has spent its life in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez hogshead, and it shows. Bottled from cask #9218, it's packed with sticky sweetness and dark fruit to create a bold, dessert-leaning dram.
Black cherries, mocha, and molasses, with stewed apples and pears, heather honey, butterscotch, and a nutty note of glazed almonds.
Plum jam and baking spice lead into black cherry compote, warmed honey, raisin butter, and rich figgy sweetness.
Lingering dark fruit, sweet spice, and a slightly drying oak edge to balance things out.
