Lochlea caps off its Overtone collaboration with Over & Stout. This second and final release comes from just five casks in total: three stout-seasoned casks shared with Glasgow’s Overtone Brewery, one first-fill bourbon barrel and one peated bourbon barrel. The stout’s earthy, chocolatey weight is boosted by sweet vanilla and gentle smoke in a whisky that feels familiar to those who loved the first release, yet distinctive enough to stand on its own. Lochlea Over & Stout was bottled at 52% ABV, non chill filtered and natural in colour.
Sweet stout character straight away, followed by light smoke, toasted oak and a hint of malt loaf.
Creamy and bold with vanilla, cinder toffee and rich BBQ smoke, all wrapped in a silky texture from the stout-seasoned casks.
Lingers with warming spice, green oak, rye bread and crunchy cereal notes.
