This colourful bottle is part of The Lakes Whiskymaker's Editions, which sees a departure from the English distillery's usual sherry-led house style. Named Iris, whisky maker Dhavall Gandhi was inspired by a town in the western Himalayas, Gulmarg, which translates as 'meadow of flowers'. No surprise then that this is a particularly floral and tropical fruit-forward affair, with all those flavours amped up at a generous bottling strength of 56% ABV.
Floral and sweet, with crunchy red apple, a touch of honey, and Turkish delight.
Candied citrus, lemon blossom, pear skin, and toasted almond.
Buttery nuts and orchard fruits.
