Tomatin is exploring the world of French treats with its French Collection, by finishing its whisky in casks that have previously held French wines and spirits. This particular expression is a 12 year old single malt, which has enjoyed a finishing period in casks that were home to some Sauternes wine. One of the most famous style of sweet wine out there, Sauternes is well-known for its bright, juicy, and generally yummy flavour profile, which makes it excellent for whisky cask finishes.
Peaches and cream, caramel, a hint of malt loaf.
Richly honeyed, with juicy pear and quince. A hint of coconut ice develops along the way.
Candied ginger, clementine, and a smidge of cinnamon.
